I got tagged!
1. Favorite Halloween song?
Danse Macabre by Camille Saint-Saens. I have been known to get this song stuck in my head and go waltzing about the park. By myself. Usually while I'm walking alone. At night.
I promise, I'm not really THAT creepy. Or, at least, I try.
2. Witch or Vampire?
I've always been more fond of vampires.
3. Favorite thing about Halloween?
Seeing children dress up and getting to dress up myself. When I was in high school, I developed a great fondness for dressing up because I usually worked at my fast food job on Halloween. This was mostly because an adult in costume is instantly something between a hero, a celebrity, a confidante, a kindred spirit, and real magic. I love being able to dress in ways that I like and get that reaction from children.
4. Halloween party or scary movie marathon?
Movie marathon! I love Halloween movies, from spooky kids films to actual horror.
5. Skeletons or Zombies?
Skeletons. Not that I'm not fond of zombies (the genre's given me some of my favorite films and tv shows, after all), but there's something fascinating about the naked architecture of the human body.
6. Favorite Halloween candy?
I don't regard it as Halloween-specific, but I always got really excited when I got mini twix when I was a kid. Now, though, my favorite Halloween sweet treat is homemade gingerbread with apple cider.
7. Favorite Halloween movie?
I'm tempted to say "yes," but this really comes down to how I define a Halloween movie. I always watch Hocus Pocus, but I think it's up there with Cat People. I know Cat People's an odd choice, but I watch it every year and it's still creepy.
8.Favorite Halloween costume?
Of mine? I think the best I've ever done was last year's witch costume, though I intend to top it this year if possible.
9. Favorite Halloween store?
Oh, gosh. I think my favorite is really JoAnn Fabrics.
However, my favorite Halloween piece came from Wal Mart; it's a pair of pants printed with abstract bats in black and gray, and they are the most comfortable pajama pants I've ever owned. I'm eternally in pursuit of another pair, but their subsequent prints haven't been appealing.
10. Jack-o-lanterns, yes or no?
Maybe? I'm fond of them on others' yards, but not so much of making them myself.
11. Bats or Black Cats?
I am absurdly fond of bats, particularly fruit bats.
12. Is Halloween your favorite holiday?
Yes and no. I love other holidays as much, but other holidays don't give me an opportunity to embrace my spooky side. I am free to give gifts and drink cocoa other times than Christmas, for example, but I have little societally acceptable opportunity to embrace my love of scary movies and spooky imagery.
13. Pumpkin spice latte or hot chocolate?
Hot chocolate, though given the chance I'm really an apple cider girl.
Again, thanks so much to longtime reader Natz Schaf for tagging me!
Aww, that was quick. Thank you! :D
ReplyDeleteToday I saw some pretty flyers.. usually I would have left them there. But (because of you and your post! :D) I thought I could cut the images out so I took quite a lot with me and spent the last hour with scissors. Now my hand hurts and my paper bin is full with cannibalized flyers (can you say that? Cannibalized flyers? But we have halloween time, so I thought it sounds cool at least.. even if it may be wrong xD).
:)
Delete(You can totally say that. Especially at Halloween)
Halloween is a special event and we must prepare for it in great manner. So grab some vampire or witch dresses and be ready for the horror and dreadful nightmares.
