Outfit of the Day: Red, White, and Mint

"It ought to be celebrated by pomp and parade, with games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations from one end of this continent to the other..."-John Adams
And thus, we have completed another Fourth of July here in the U.S.A. I decided to wear a very casual Lolita coordinate for the occasion both because dressing up for the day is fun and because I have the day off and am therefore not required to dress for work. I considered wearing my sailor dress, but that ended up being a touch too warm in the bright sunshine.

However, I was able to pull together an outfit that was summery and sweeter than my usual. I wish I'd had a cute straw hat to go with it, but I've not yet been able to find one that fits my head and suits my head.

As I said, it's a very simple coord, but I didn't exactly have a reason to go out today so I'd rather go simple than pile on the frippery. This bow is fast becoming a favorite of mine; it's chiffon, oversized without being too enormous, and it's easy to clip into my hair.

And my favorite part of my coord: my basket purse! Once I get a proper straw hat, this is going to be part of so many county lolita coordinates.

Outfit Rundown:
Skirt: Bodyline
Underskirt: Malco Modes
Top: ShopKo
Belt: Gordman's
Hair Bow: Claire's
Shoes (red flats): Ebay
Parasol: Totes (purchased from Target)
Purse: Vintage
For those of you in the states, I hope you had a happy Fourth of July. For those of you not in the states, I hope it was a fun Friday!

  1. Lovely! The straw hat would've given the outfit the final "country" touch, but it's already really nice as it is. That skirt is very pretty and so is that bow - I've been looking for bows like that one for ages: oversized but not HUGE as most of lolita hair accessories are D:
Also, I love the waistbelt *_* too bad I can't see the shoes!

    1. I'm hoping the bows go on sale soon so I can stock up!

:) The shoes are pretty basic, just red flats. I tried to get a decent picture of them, but my camera did not behave.
